  2. All unnecessary default programs will be removed to strengthen security
  3. All pre-installed programs will be checked for latest updates and security packages
  4. Brute force detector installed to strengthen security levels
  5. SIM installation - monitors and restarts services in the event of server failure
  6. All relevant monitoring and analysis programs installed (Log Watch, MRTG etc)
  7. Configure smartd, an early warning system for all hard disks installed
  8. Harden temporary data paths (e.g. /tmp/)
  9. Install and configure Advanced Policy Firewall (APF)
  10. Tweak and harden SSH
Installation of Hosting Services
  • Install and configure the latest version of cPanel
  • Configuration of DNS and setup your branded nameservers
  • Install and configure LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP)
  • Update and harden FTP, Sendmail, POP3, SMTP, IMAP and other packages
  • Necessary program licenses validated and verified
  • Run initial login and verify all programs and configure where needed
  • Ensure all security patches and updates are configured
Final Preparations
  • Install and setup 24/7 monitoring package
  • Setup virus filtering and spam protection
