Our servers come with a whole range of features, including instant setup, free setup, free SSL certificate, free WHMCS license and a fully featured control panel.

A VPS is the perfect stepping stone between a reseller account and a dedicated server, giving you much more freedom and control over your server than reseller hosting but at a much lower cost than a dedicated server. The new range of US servers now gives you two locations allowing you to choose a server closer to you for lower latency.

All servers also come with free management when a cPanel license is ordered, giving you time to concentrate on your business rather than managing your server.

We already provide some of the best support in the industry, however there is always room for improvement and we strive for perfection. We're proud to announce EZPZ Hosting is now hosting over 30,000 domain names!

You may have noticed it's a bit of a jump from yesterdays count but it seems the script was missing a few servers.

The rate of growth has been huge in the last 3 months and we're continuing to bring new staff on board to maintain our high levels of service and support.

We will soon be making some exciting changes and are introducing new packages based on your feedback. It won't be long before we hit 50,000 :)

 

EZPZ Hosting goes rebootless!

Offering 100% uptime is always our goal, however when it came to critical kernel updates to fix security issues we have no choice but to reboot servers. However, thanks to Ksplice there is now a solution.

Keeping up to date with kernel updates is extremely important and often fixes important security holes. In 2009 there were 16 released, each requires a reboot which takes around 15 minutes to complete. This means there would have been a total of 4 hours downtime just to update the kernel. Ksplice allows us to perform these updates without rebooting and without any impact on performance.

The other advantage is that we can apply patches instantly. We no longer need to plan ahead and give a few days notice of an impending reboot, during this time the server may be open to an exploit causing obvious security problems.

Ksplice is now installed on all shared, reseller and VPS servers. It is also included free of charge on all managed dedicated servers

Backup Retention Raised to 31 Days!

Due to popular demand and increased capacity with our new R1Soft backup servers, the retention has been raised from 14 days to 31 days. This means instead of the original 56 restore points there are now 124 backups you can restore from!

R1Soft is an incremental backup solution used on all shared, reseller and VPS nodes to protect your data. To ensure backups are always up to date we run 4 backups each day at regular intervals.

Shared and Reseller customers can also click the 'R1Soft Restore' button within cPanel to view and restore their own files automatically. Resellers can also choose to sell this as an addon to their regular hosting packages using the Feature Manager section of WHM.

Beta Testers Wanted – Are you good at breaking things?

When we roll out a new feature we will always perform lengthy internal testing on development servers before they're put into production. With things like new backup systems or a new auto-installer this works well, however some things call for real world testing, and this is where we need your help.

As part of the testing we will give you a free basic reseller account to do whatever you like with for the duration of the test. Your challenge is to use up as much resources as you can, run CPU intensive scripts and try to bring the server to its knees, code a script that'll create thousands of files for hours a day or just run your WordPress blog.

Everything you see will be exactly the same as one of our regular servers, however the underlying operating system will be completely different. Each website effectively runs in it's own virtual environment, meaning if one website is consuming a massive amount of resources no other websites would be affected. That's what we're hoping anyway!

There are a few requirements:

  • You must have an active service at EZPZ Hosting
  • You must have a good understanding of hosting and how to fully utilize your account
  • You must be willing to test the system to its limits
  • You understand that this test is on a development server so isn't recommended for production websites
  • You understand we will take no backups of this server
  • You understand that the server may be terminated at any time
  • You must be willing to submit feedback on the system
  • You must be really good at breaking things

If you're up to the challenge, submit a ticket and we will consider your application. As a reward everyone that tests this and submits feedback will get £20 account credit.

Softaculous Added to All Servers

A number of clients have asked if we have ever considered installing Softaculous instead of Installatron. We’ve been testing Softaculous on our development servers to see if it’s worth deploying and we’re pleased to announce it has now been installed on all shared and reseller servers!

This has been discussed in our private forums and we have decided we will not be removing Installatron and both will run side-by-side, however we won’t be creating our WHMCS auto-installer for Installatron, this will now be handled by Softaculous.

Softaculous is an auto installer for cPanel and DirectAdmin. Unlike other auto installers Softaculous is much faster, well designed and it installs all scripts in just ONE STEP. The creators of Softaculous are constantly adding new scripts to their installer, at the time of writing this post there are currently 136 scripts that can be automatically installed.

Some of you forum regulars may have noticed we have added a new section to our forums over the last few days.

Our new private customer forums allow you to interact with other EZPZ customers in private, away from search engines and other prying eyes. This allows you to share tips, ask questions and discuss other aspects of hosting in complete privacy- something our reseller customers have been wanting for a while.

As well as getting tips from other clients, we will be posting details of upcoming features within these forums, we’ll also be running customer polls to see what you’d like to see and getting your opionion on changes we’re considering.

One of the most common requests from our customer survey earlier this year was Los Angeles based servers. Once again we’ve given you exactly what you want and LA based servers are now online.

We are able to provide shared and reseller hosting services from our reliable Los Angeles datacentre. Simply choose your locations on the order form and your account will be instantly setup.

We now offer three locations to choose from. Our UK based servers give great response time and performance for European visitors, Dallas is perfect for Central and Eastern America while our Los Angeles servers provide brilliant results for Western America and Asia.
