A number of clients have asked if we have ever considered installing Softaculous instead of Installatron. We’ve been testing Softaculous on our development servers to see if it’s worth deploying and we’re pleased to announce it has now been installed on all shared and reseller servers!
This has been discussed in our private forums and we have decided we will not be removing Installatron and both will run side-by-side, however we won’t be creating our WHMCS auto-installer for Installatron, this will now be handled by Softaculous.
Softaculous is an auto installer for cPanel and DirectAdmin. Unlike other auto installers Softaculous is much faster, well designed and it installs all scripts in just ONE STEP. The creators of Softaculous are constantly adding new scripts to their installer, at the time of writing this post there are currently 136 scripts that can be automatically installed.
Softaculous also handles software updates and can import existing installs. To view a list of scripts that can be automatically installed and updated, click here. To access simply click the ‘Softaculous Installer’ button within cPanel.
Some of you forum regulars may have noticed we have added a new section to our forums over the last few days.
Our new private customer forums allow you to interact with other EZPZ customers in private, away from search engines and other prying eyes. This allows you to share tips, ask questions and discuss other aspects of hosting in complete privacy- something our reseller customers have been wanting for a while.
As well as getting tips from other clients, we will be posting details of upcoming features within these forums, we’ll also be running customer polls to see what you’d like to see and getting your opionion on changes we’re considering.

One of the most common requests from our customer survey earlier this year was Los Angeles based servers. Once again we’ve given you exactly what you want and LA based servers are now online.
We are able to provide shared and reseller hosting services from our reliable Los Angeles datacentre. Simply choose your locations on the order form and your account will be instantly setup.
We now offer three locations to choose from. Our UK based servers give great response time and performance for European visitors, Dallas is perfect for Central and Eastern America while our Los Angeles servers provide brilliant results for Western America and Asia.

We’re proud to announce that EZPZ Hosting is (probably) the first to release a WHMPHP module to allow resellers to automatically create sub-resellers!
Previously there was no way to automatically create a reseller so this had to be handled manually, however with our WHMCS module this can now be performed automatically! The module is incredibly simple to setup and requires you to upload just two files to your WHMCS installation.
A new client can order a reseller package through your website and automatically have the account setup and the welcome email sent. The module can also be used to automatically suspend, unsuspend and terminate the reseller directly through WHMCS.
To download this package, resellers can visit the client area at https://clients.ezpzhosting.co.uk – go to ‘My Products/Services’ and click the icon next to your reseller package. Full instructions on setup and usage are also included.

We run a very strict firewall to help protect against brute force attacks, port scanning and more. This also means legitimate visitors can also be accidentally blocked from accessing the server.
We now have a new firewall unblocker within our client area. This allows you to automatically remove your IP address from the firewall without having to submit a support ticket. Reseller clients are also able to search by IP address and unblock their clients automatically.
To use this new feature, simply log into your client area, click ‘My Products and Services’ and click the icon next to your package. You will then see a button to unblock your IP or a box to enter a clients IP address into. After clicking ‘Unblock’ your IP will be removed within 10 minutes.
Our customer survey has helped highlight some areas of our service that need improvement and we’ve already begun to make changes starting with our shared packages.
A lot of comments were regarding our bandwidth quotas. Our packages were originally set with our old hardware and network in mind meaning the quotas were not overly generous. We’ve now raised the bandwidth on all shared plans and the disk space on our Junior plan.
Our Junior package used to include 1GB diskspace and 10GB bandwidth, it now includes 3GB disk space and 30GB monthly bandwidth. The Senior package now includes 100GB bandwidth instead of 50GB and the Master package now includes a whopping 200GB monthly bandwidth.
All existing customers should now be on the new plans, if you see any discrepancies within cPanel, please submit a ticket and we will take a look.
We’ll be making other changes based on your feedback in the coming weeks so if you’ve not yet completed the customer survey, please consider doing so to help us serve you better.
Our WHMCS autoinstaller has now been updated to 4.1.2
Installing WHMCS couldn’t be easier, simply click ‘Installatron’ in your cPanel then click WHMCS. Simply enter your desired admin details and license key. Uploading files, changing permissions, creating the database and writing configuration files is done automatically.
cPanel has now been upgraded to 11.25 on all servers. This bring a whole range of new features including the ability to edit DNS zones right from cPanel, an enhanced AJAX interface and more.
Performance
cPanel/WHM 11.25 implements some major changes throughout our mailing system. We’ve adjusted the Exim configuration to allow a single process to listen on multiple ports, thereby reducing RAM and CPU usage. In addition to this, we’ve also improved quota lookup efficiency.
RoundCube webmail can now operate using the lightweight SQLite database engine. This gives each email account its own SQLite database, and assigns ownership of the RoundCube process to the cPanel account, for easier process accounting.
Version 11.25 also updates RoundCube, SquirrelMail, and Mailman to their most current versions.
Security
We know that security is important to you. That’s why we’ve added numerous security features to cPanel/WHM 11.25. Our new security token system attempts to prevent cross-site request forgery (XSRF) attacks by appending URLs with a session token in the form of cpsess<number>. When this feature is enabled, absolute URLs are no longer allowed. This new feature helps to ensure a safe environment for you and your customers.
Refined User Interface
We’ve revamped the cPanel home page with even cleaner HTML, and reduced the number of HTTP requests the page sends, resulting in shorter load times. Plus, we optimized the CSS used by cPanel, to speed page loading throughout the entire cPanel interface.
We’ve also overhauled one of cPanel’s most frequently accessed areas: the Email Accounts page. It now combines all the major functionality involved with email accounts into a single page: you can add, search, sort, and delete accounts, as well as change passwords and quotas, all without leaving the page. With its clean new design, this page provides a faster, more intuitive way to manage your email.
cPanel/WHM 11.25 comes equipped with an improved editor for MX (mail exchanger) entries. This new editor allows you to configure multiple mail exchangers with the same priority, for balancing the load on your mail servers.
After a lot of work we are now able to accept credit cards through our website and can automatically bill each month.
Google Checkout has now been removed and replaced with the ‘Credit Card’ option. This allows you to enter your details directly onto our website, you will then be automatically billed each month. This was implemented after the feedback and complaints we received about having to login to Google Checkout each month and pay your invoice manually.
